CUSTOM STEEL STORAGE BUILDINGS

Vance Metal Buildings delivers custom metal storage buildings for sale across Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Whether you need enclosed storage for climate-sensitive assets or large storage buildings for commercial operations, every project is fully custom to your property, your load, and how often you'll need to access what's inside.

And every project we deliver is turnkey. Our own team pours concrete slabs sized to your loads, handles county permits, delivers your steel on schedule, and completes the professional installation. The metal storage buildings property owners get from us are ready to fill the day the crew leaves.

Storage isn't a one-size-fits-all problem. An RV needs different clearance than a boat, which needs different access than farm equipment or business inventory. Getting it right means starting with what you're actually storing, then designing around it.

STORAGE BUILDING TYPES WE DELIVER

Every storage need is different, and every building we deliver reflects that. Below are the most common storage configurations we build across the Mountain West. All are fully customizable to your assets, your property, and how often you'll access what's inside.

RV Storage Buildings

Fully enclosed RV storage buildings sized to your motorhome, fifth wheel, or trailer. Popular configurations include 14 to 16-foot door heights, extra length for extended slide-outs, and interior clearance for full-size Class A motorhomes.

Boat Storage Buildings

Boat storage buildings for wake boats, cruisers, fishing boats, and larger watercraft. Wide bay doors and interior clearance sized to your rig, trailer, and mast height.

Equipment Storage Buildings

Equipment storage building configurations for heavy equipment, farm machinery, construction gear, and commercial inventory. Wide bay doors, clear-span interiors, and floors rated to your equipment loads.

Personal Storage Buildings

Compact steel storage buildings for household overflow, hobby equipment, seasonal items, and workshop-adjacent storage. Sized around your property and your storage needs.

Large Commercial Storage

Large-scale storage facilities for business inventory, distribution, and fleet operations. Multi-bay configurations, loading dock options, and clear-span interiors designed to scale.

Mini Storage Facilities

Mini storage buildings and self-storage facility configurations for developers and property owners entering the storage industry. Optimized layouts for tenant access, security, and per-unit efficiency.

STORAGE CONFIGURATIONS

Not every storage need requires fully enclosed walls. Vance Metal Buildings builds three primary storage configurations, each with different tradeoffs for cost, access, and asset protection.

Fully Enclosed

Enclosed metal storage building configurations with full walls, roll-up doors, and complete weather protection. The best option for climate-sensitive assets, RVs, boats, and long-term storage.

Full weather and climate protection

Enhanced security and lockable access

Best for long-term or seasonal storage

Insulation options available for climate control

Ideal for valuable equipment and vehicles

Semi-Enclosed

Three-sided storage with an open front or one open end. A middle-ground option that protects from weather while providing faster access than a fully enclosed build.

Faster access than fully enclosed

Still protected from most weather

Ideal for frequently accessed equipment

Lower cost than fully enclosed

Popular for RV storage in mild climates

Open Storage

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Storage building projects raise questions about configuration, size, cost, and access. Here are clear answers to the ones we hear most.

  • How much does a metal storage building cost?

Storage pricing depends on size, configuration (enclosed, semi-enclosed, or open), door types, insulation, and site conditions. A basic 20x30 personal storage building sits at a very different price point than a 60x100 commercial facility. Prefab storage buildings from national retailers typically only cover materials on a truck, while our turnkey builds include the concrete slab, permits, delivery, and professional installation. During your free consultation, a specialist prices your exact configuration, walks you through every line item, and answers every question before you commit. Financing through HFS Financial is available with deposits starting at just $100.

  • What's the difference between enclosed, semi-enclosed, and open storage?

Enclosed storage has full walls, doors, and complete weather protection, and is the best choice for climate-sensitive assets, valuable equipment, and long-term storage. Semi-enclosed storage has three sides and an open front, offering weather protection with faster access for equipment you use frequently. Open storage is columns and roof only, similar to a covered carport, and works well for hay, farm machinery, and other weather-tolerant assets. Your specialist walks you through the tradeoffs based on what you're storing and how you plan to access it.

  • What sizes do you offer for RV and boat storage?

For RV storage, we recommend a minimum of 14-foot door heights and interior lengths that leave 3 to 5 feet of clearance beyond your RV for storage and walkaround access. Popular RV storage sizes include 20x40 for a single Class C or fifth wheel, 30x50 for two RVs or an RV plus workshop space, and 40x60 for larger family setups. Boat storage sizing depends on your rig type, trailer configuration, and mast height. Your specialist walks through your specific vehicle dimensions during the consultation to make sure the fit is right the first time.

  • Can I add climate control to my storage?

Yes. Insulation packages are available for wall, roof, and door systems, which is often the first step for climate-controlled storage. Depending on your climate zone and what you're storing, we can also configure the building to accept HVAC systems, vapor barriers, and humidity control. Your local mechanical contractor handles the actual HVAC installation, and we design the structure to accommodate it.

  • Do you build mini storage facilities?

Yes. We build mini storage buildings and self-storage facility configurations for property owners and developers entering the storage industry. These projects require additional design consideration for tenant access, security features, unit layouts, and any local zoning requirements. Your building specialist walks you through the details during your consultation.

  • Is the concrete slab included?

Yes. Every storage building we deliver includes the concrete slab as standard, poured by our own crew and sized to your storage loads and soil conditions. You never coordinate a separate concrete contractor, and there's never any finger-pointing between your slab and your building.

  • What door options are available?

Roll-up doors are the most popular option for storage buildings and are available in widths and heights sized to your assets. Sliding doors and hinged carriage doors are available for specific use cases. For fully enclosed configurations, we include walk doors for pedestrian access. Door specifications are configured during your consultation based on what you're storing and how you'll access it.

  • Do you handle permits?

Yes. Permit requirements differ by county across our service area, and we handle the application, stamped structural plans, submittals, and approvals on your behalf. Permit work is included in the turnkey price on your quote.

  • Do you serve Wyoming, Nebraska, and Montana as well as Colorado?

Yes. Our crews deliver and install storage buildings throughout all four states with the same turnkey service, including permits, concrete, and installation. Whether your property is near a metro or on remote acreage, we bring the building and the crew to you.
